Rosy’s story

Healing a sprained ankle quickly through hand path therapy

At the end of June 2022, Rosy sprained her ankle after falling down a few stairs in the garage. Immediately she knew something was wrong but she went to work anyway. Within a few hours, the ankle had become red, swollen, bruised, and painful. She asked her husband to bring over some crutches from the house and then she went to the hospital. At the hospital emergency room, she waited for five hours to see the doctor. When the doctor finally came, there wasn’t much they could do for Rosy. They said her ankle was likely not broken and would not be able to get her in for X-rays for a few weeks. After inquiring, they were able to prescribe some pain medication and sent her home. Rosy, who owns her own business, knows it would be very hard for her to be out few weeks. Thankfully, she is trained in traditional Chinese medicine such as herbal patch therapy. After going home the first night, she wrapped her foot up in Chinese herbs as she learned in hand patch therapy. On the second day, after doing hand patch therapy, the swelling and pain had gone away significantly and she was able to walk around without crutches. She continued to do hand patch therapy through the second and third days. By the fourth day, she was able to do some yard work such as cutting grape branches. By the fifth day, she fully recovered and in her words, “experienced the magic of hand patch therapy.”

Hand patch therapy is based on the Chinese medicine practice of balancing the body’s Qi (energy). It is based on the theory that there are 14 meridian channel pathways in our body and corresponding channels on our hands that Qi flows through. When Qi stops flowing freely, there can be symptoms such as pain, numbness, swelling, and insomnia. However, when all the Qi in the meridians become balanced, these symptoms can be cured and will go away. Using a combination of herbs based on where the pain is, a herbal patch can be applied to different meridian points and areas to help balance the Qi. Herbs can include barley, coconut powder, black pepper, coriander seed, corn grit, and more. Many patients often feel better immediately after the patch is applied and there are no side effects. Due to its herbal nature, it is very safe and effective.
